2022 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Tips
Wonder Wheel has already secured a couple of notable victories this year. The debut outing saw the two-year-old triumph in the Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs on 4 July, although that was only a three-runner race. However, the filly was beaten as favourite in the Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga before returning to the winners’ enclosure at Keeneland.
There was plenty to like about the way in which the horse set about her business in the Darley Alcibiades Stakes and the Mark Casse-trained runner obliged as favourite when beating thirteen other two-year-old fillies. It was noticeable that Wonder Wheel only just managed to hold on on that occasion.
As for Chocolate Gelato, we have seen a win at Saratoga and Belmont Park this season. Todd Pletcher trains a talented two-year-old that won a Maiden Special Weight before heading to the Frizette Stakes and claiming a Group 1 success. Over one mile on sloppy ground, it certainly set a marker for the Breeders’ Cup.
Peter Miller is the trainer of And Tell Me Nolies and this horse hasn’t put a hoof wrong as a two-year-old, earning her place as one of the favourites for the Juvenile Fillies’ race. A victory in the Chandelier Stakes was impressive on a dirt track at Santa Anita, with favourite Justique beaten on that occasion and it’s going to be one hell of a race.
