2024 bet365 Hurdle Betting Odds at Wetherby racecourse

Saturday, 02 November 2024

We’re looking forward to some quality races on the Wetherby racecard on Saturday and one of the most intriguing is the bet365 Hurdle. Strong Leader is set to go off as favourite, with the horse boasting the highest rating in the field, although some punters might prefer to look at an each-way alternative and there are plenty of quality operators.

Dashel Drasher runs for Jeremy Scott and the eleven-year-old is likely to get the three-mile trip, while Sandor Clegane might improve on that fourth placed finish which was achieved on his seasonal debut. Twig and Gwennie May Boy are other contenders for a weekend encounter where the going is set to be on the quick side.

2024 Bet365 Hurdle Tips

Strong Leader is the horse at the top of the market when it comes to the bet365 Hurdle, with the horse able to fend off nine other rivals at Aintree last time out. There was a four and a half length victory which came at 8/1 in the Liverpool Hurdle and the fact that the runner did this in Grade 1 company suggests a strong run is on the cards here.

Previously to this, there was a decent effort in the Cleeve Hurdle when finishing third behind Noble Yeats and Paisley Park, with Dashel Drasher coming next in the market and it will be interesting to see whether the eleven-year-old retains the pace to perform well. Jeremy Scott will hope that there’s at least one more good season in his legs.

The horse was able to finish seventh out of ten horses last time out, with the runner nearly forty lengths behind Strong Leader, although we should expect the gap to be a lot closer this time around. In the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham, there was an eighth-placed finish and that came after finishing two lengths behind Strong Leader at Cheltenham.

Sandor Clegane was fourth last time out and the seven-year-old might live up to his Game of Thrones character and put up a good fight in this race. Paul Nolan trains a horse who achieved a midfield finish at Punchestown in a Grade One Novice Chase, although it’s been several races since we saw him in the winners’ enclosure.
