Thesecretadversary has run five times this season and three of those efforts have resulted in a victory. The three-year-old scored at Leopardstown back in April and came back to form at Royal Ascot by securing the spoils. That success came in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes, with the 20/1 shot was always doing enough to get up on the line and deliver a victory in the process.
The Haras de Fresnay-Le-Buffard Prix Jean Prat was a Group One encounter at Deauville that was won by the above horse, with the runner making all over the distance. The horse proved that there were gears, with the past two performances having represented a marked improvement on displays at the Curragh and Newmarket.
Notable Speech finished the previous season with successive wins and the Charlie Appleby-trained runner has been running well this time around. The horse won the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Del Mar back in November, with the runner obliging as the 2/1 favourite in the Lockinge Stakes when securing a two-length victory.
Lake Forest is trained by William Haggas and the horse has been in the winners’ enclosure on two occasions this season. The five-year-old was able to secure a victory at Haydock Park in May, with there being a fifth-placed effort at Royal Ascot. In a field of eighteen runners, the horse produced a strong performance and there’s a backable price available.
