York is situated in the north of Yorkshire and it’s a Roman city, with the course situated just outside of the city walls. There have been race meetings at York for centuries, with punters able to attend a wide range of festivals and meetings including the Ebor Meeting in August.

The Ebor Festival is a Betting Extravaganza

Whether you’re betting horse racing online or attending York racecourse, the Ebor Festival is the jewel in the crown when it comes to this track. The Ebor Festival takes place in August and it’s a four-day affair spanning Wednesday - Saturday, with the racing coming thick and fast.

The Ebor horse racing betting kicks off on Day One with the International Stakes, the Great Voltigeur Stakes and Acomb Stakes. The International Stakes is the Group 1 race and is run over one mile and two furlongs, with this race available to three-year-old horses and older.

On Day Two of the Ebor Festival, there’s another Group One race in the form of the Yorkshire Oaks, with this being a fillies race in the same way as the Epsom Oaks that acts as the precursor to the Derby. The Lowther Stakes is also on the same card and that’s a Group 2 race run over six furlongs.

Day Three brings another Group One race in the form of the Nunthorpe Stakes, with racing punters able to bet on this five furlong dash and hope to get themselves a winner in the process. The Lonsdale Cup and Strensall Stakes are on the same card, with the former a Group Two race.

The Ebor Festival finishes on Day Four with the Gimcrack Stakes and Ebor Handicap, with the latter run over one mile and six furlongs. Online betting customers are able to log into their betting account and enjoy live streaming of the action depending on what race they want to watch.
