2025 York Fillies' Handicap Betting Tips
There are lots of similarly-priced runners lining up for the York Fillies’ Handicap although it’s Zgharta who has been installed as favourite. The three-year-old was last seen running at Goodwood where the horse was able to finish fifth out of twelve runners in the Ridgeview Fillies’ Handicap. This came after a seventh-placed effort at Ascot in the Sandringham Stakes.
There was previously a win at Newmarker where Zgharta was able to score as the 13/8 favourite in a Maiden Fillies’ Stakes. However, Consecrated is available at a bigger price and William Haggas saddles a runner who won at Newbury over seven furlongs at the start of the season. Following on from this, the horse was able to register fourth from nine at York and that came after a struggling effort at Newbury.
The 11/10 favourite was underwhelming in the Fillies Novices Stakes when only landing sixth from eight runners, with Wonder Star the next in the betting. This runner might appeal from an each-way point-of-view and the last effort saw the charge finish second out of fourteen runners, with that being a half length defeat at Goodwood.
Cape Flora was a winner last time out and there was a success at Leicester in the previous encounter. That came in a fillies handicap over one mile and two furlongs, with favourite Magical Idea beaten by six lengths. Orionis has run several times and the three-year-old has claimed two victories this term with those coming at Ripon and Windsor.
2023 EBF Fillies' Handicap Tips
There are a number of different ways to approach the 2023 EBF Fillies' Handicap, with some punters compiling a shortlist of horses from the twenty that are set to line up in this encounter. Rowayeh is easy to consider after two victories and two third-placed finishes this season, with the three-year-old likely to perform well for Owen Burrows off her mark.
Last time out, the horse ran well to finish third in the Coral Fillies’ Handicap, with this coming after a victory at Sandown Park in the middle of June. We previously saw an odds-on win at Beverley although the runner’s odds suggest that something will emerge from the pack to land a victory for their respective connections.
Perhaps La Isla Mujeres has the credentials to go well, with the horse finishing third in the British European Breeders Fund EBF Fillies' Handicap at Goodwood last time out. That came after a victory in a Fillies’ Handicap at Salisbury in mid-July, with Totnes also one for the shortlist and this horse is bidding for a third consecutive victory.
There was a win on the all-weather at Chelmsford when sent off as the 5/4 favourite and that was before scoring a victory at Chepstow over one mile and two furlongs on 10 August. Amanzoe is also an interesting contender who returns to the track after an absence of over a year, with William Haggas saddling a horse who has ran well in the past.
