Nunthorpe Handicap 2026 Result
There’s a cracking card at York Racecourse on Saturday, with the racing beginning with a five-furlong showdown at the Knavesmire. There will be a stampede down the straight, with Tim Easterby training Equity Law and we think the five-year-old could be a quality operator. He’s finished second and first in his previous two showings, with the odds looking backable from an each-way point-of-view.

Emerald Harmony could well go off as favourite, with Paul Midgeley’s charge having regularly hit the frame this season. Lethal Nymph is another runner from the Midgeley stable, with the seven-year-old having been second in a recent showing. Bayraat catches our eye considering that the ten-year-old has been in the first two home in all four showings.

Equity Law looks a great each-way option after landing a victory at Pontefract in June. The five-year-old got up by a head to touch off Lethal Nymph over five furlongs, with that coming after a runner-up performance at Catterick. The horse has certainly found some form considering that these two efforts were preceded by an off-colour effort at Thirsk.
Tim Easterby now appears to be getting a tune out his horse although there are also a couple of Paul Midgeley-trained runners appearing at the top of the market. Emerald Harmony is a five-year-old who scored at Thirsk in the middle of June, with that coming before a smart runner-up position at Doncaster and the latest effort was a third-placed finish at York.
Stablemate Lethal Nymph also has to be considered, with this being another Midgeley runner who was close to Equity Law last time out. The seven-year-old has bags of experience running at York and the latest showing at the Knavesmire was a fifth-placed effort in the Fordy Marshall Handicap. The horse also outran his odds of 80/1 when hitting the frame at York in May.
Bayraat could be a quality operator in this encounter and the ten-year-old hasn’t been out of the first two home in the past four showings. Tom Tate trains a horse who was second at Doncaster Racecourse earlier this month, with this coming after a June win at Wetherby. There had previously been successive runner-up efforts at Redcar.
