Operated by Century Casinos, this is owned by a company called Vici Properties, with this being the very first race track in the United States to get slot machines and become a racino.
The race track was first opened in 1951 and it has a number of notable races throughout the calendar. There were over 200 racing dates created in 2012 and there are still a high number of races, although increased competition means that the purse size is now smaller.
Bet on the West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer
The West Virginia Derby is a Grade III race that takes place at Mountaineer Racetrack. This is a historic encounter which was first run in 1923 as the Huntingdon Tri-State Park. It is run over a distance of nine furlongs on a dirt track and is popular with bettors all over the US.
This is a tight encounter for three-year-olds on the left-hand track, with a large purse of $500,000 available to customers. Skippylongstocking, Mr Wireless and Mr Money are some of the most recent winners, with customers all over the world able to place bets on this encounter.
