Blonde Over Blue ran at Leopardstown at the beginning of June and secured a victory over seven furlongs. On soft ground, the horse was able to prosper at odds of 6/1, with the charge fending off 2/1 joint-favourite Alpha. It means that we're led to conclude that the runner is a backable each-way price depending on whether the horse can take to faster ground.
An Aidan O'Brien-trained horse is never far away at the top of a Royal Ascot betting market. Aix La Chapelle fits that bill and the 4/1 chance was able to oblige in a six-runner encounter. On good to yielding ground, there was plenty to like about the seven furlong success at the Curragh. The horse produced a strong finish which bodes well for this higher-profile contest.
Alpha is also near the top of the betting order and this is another Aidan O'Brien-trained runner who was second to Blonde Over Blue last time out. There wasn't much between the two horses and perhaps the order can be reversed. Revels is another standout performer who runs for Karl Burke and did everything right on a debut run.
Sent off as the 8/11 favourite, the charge was able to oblige by three lengths with the horse ending up winning comfortably. South Dakota was fourth in a field of eight runners at the Curragh on his debut but that was in a competitive heat. The 8/1 chance only finished six lengths behind the impressive Sergei Diaghilev and that could end up being strong form.
