2026 King Edward VII Stakes Betting Odds at Ascot racecourse

Stay True and Almiloc could be battling it out for favouritism when it comes to the King Edward VII Stakes. There’s little between the pair in the betting market, with the former having performed well twice in Ireland recently. However, this encounter looks super competitive, with Puppet Master another prime contender for this race.

There could also be bold showings from Mount Kilimanjaro and Tennessee Stud. This is a race where the bookies are likely to create price boosts, with extra places sure to also be available for punters. It’s the a Group 2 race with lots of prize money available, with King of Steel and Calandagan among the recent winners.

Aidan O’Brien will be hoping for lots of Royal Ascot winners and he has a lively contender in the King Edward VII Stakes. Stay True had a runner-up performance at Lingfield back in May, with the horse running well over one mile, three and a half furlongs. That came after a maiden race success at Lingfield over one mile and two furlongs.

Amiloc has been a serial winner for Ralph Beckett and surely has a serious chance of victory. There was a success at Goodwood last time out where the 11/10 favourite won the Cocked Hat Stakes by four lengths. That came after winning at the same track a few weeks earlier. That was a one-mile success and there could be more to come.

O’Brien will hope for Stay True to fire, although Puppet Master is from the same stable and is also among the leading contenders. There was a success at Lingfield Park in May as the odds-on favourite where there were five other runners who were beaten. That came after a solid showing at Leopardstown at the end of March.

Another O’Brien contender comes in the form of Mount Kilimanjaro. There was an impressive showing at Chester last time out where the even money favourite was able to edge out the field by a narrow margin. That was over one mile, two and a half furlongs in the Dee Stakes, with this looking like each-way value.

We could have as many as nineteen runners lining up for the King Edward VII Stakes, with Castle Way one of the leading contenders and there is plenty to like about this three-year-old. There was a victory at Newmarket in early May, with the horse winning the Newmarket Stakes when winning over one mile and two furlongs, with this coming after a Nursery Handicap win.

King Of Steel goes for trainer Roger Varian and there was a surprise runner-up performance in the Epsom Derby when finishing second to Auguste Rodin by half a length. The fact that the horse was sent off at 66/1 illustrates that the horse punched well above their weight, with some punters now latching on to a runner who could continue to deliver.

Circle Of Fire is another one for the Royal Ascot betting shortlist, with the runner recently finishing third in the Lingfield Derby Trial Stakes over one mile and four furlongs. Previously to this, there was a runner-up performance behind Castle Way in the Newmarket Stakes, with the horse having two lengths to find on the winner that day.

Alder has run well in the past two outings, with the horse able to secure second place in the Boodles Dee Stakes over one mile, two and a half furlongs at Chester Racecourse. That came after a win at Cork when fending off favourite Bertinelli, with Continuous having finished well down the order in the Qatar Prix du Jockey Club but might find things more to his liking here.

Reach For The Moon is a horse owned by Her Majesty and there were some promising signs when it came to performances as a two-year-old. The horse ran at the 2021 Royal Ascot meeting where he achieved a second-placed finish behind odds-on favourite Point Lonsdale in the Chesham Stakes, with that being on soft ground over seven furlongs.

There was then a comfortable win over the same trip at Newbury and that was followed by a triumph in the Betway Solario Stakes at Sandown Park, although the big question is whether all this strong form means that the horse will be able to get a longer trip over the required one mile and four furlongs.

Nations Pride is next in the current Royal Ascot betting, with Charlie Appleby probably rating this Godolphin horse as his best chance of a winner in this race. There have been four straight wins and interestingly, the horse obliged at 7/4 over one mile and two furlongs when beating some decent runners including Hoo Ya Mal and Subastar.

There was also a relatively big money win when Nations Pride claimed victory in the Jumeirah Derby over the same trip, with stablemates New London and Walk Of Stars also looking as though they could line up and challenge for major honours.

The former had a double win at Newmarket before failing to oblige as strong favourite in the Chester Vase, with Walk Of Stars boasting similar form and there was recently a second-placed finish in a Derby Trial Stakes.
