2025 National Stakes Betting Tips
Gstaad has been backed into favouritism for the Vincent O'Brien National Stakes and perhaps this horse is banker material. The runner produced a strong effort when finishing second behind Venetian Sun at Deauville. The 11/10 favourite ran well in the Sumbe Prix Morny after previously triumphing in a Royal Ascot encounter.
That was in the Coventry Stakes, with the 7/2 favourite triumphing by three lengths. That was over six furlongs, with Aidan O’Brien having seen his horse achieve a bold win at Navan when defeating True Love. Saba Desert could be the one to topple the favourite and there’s been plenty to like about the consecutive wins that have been achieved.
There was a July success at Newmarket, with that coming in the bet365 Superlative Stakes. The 6/1 chance was able to achieve a seven furlong success, with favourite Italy beaten by over a length. That came after a June triumph at Sandown where the 4/7 favourite was a strong runner and Power Blue could also go well.
The horse returns to the Irish course after previously triumphing in early August, with the 10/1 shot winning the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes. Beating 1/4 favourite True Love was no mean feat when upsetting the odds, with the horse previously running well when finishing fifth in the Coventry Stakes. The horse’s experience at the Curragh could serve him well.
