Castle Rock ended the previous campaign with successive victories, with the horse returning to the track and finishing runner-up. Wechaad has delivered three performances this term which has seen the bookies also making this horse one of the favourites. Crossbar was a winner on the all-weather before third place last time out.

Betfred City Of Doncaster Handicap Betting Tips

Machadadorp returns to the track quickly after a previous showing. The horse was a winner at York Racecourse when obliging in a field of nineteen runners. The runner performed really well over seven furlongs to secure a two and a half length margin of victory. That came after a solid effort at Goodwood when obliging with sixth place in a field of twenty.

Earlier in the season, there were successes at Chester and Wetherby. The first of these wins came in a fillies’ stakes renewal over seven furlongs at the Roodee. The 9/2 chance obliged by nearly two lengths, with the 10/11 favourite able to secure the spoils at Wetherby where the runner took really well to the good to firm conditions.

Castle Rock looks a worth favourite, especially when you consider the horse landed successive wins at Newmarket last October. Both of these victories were achieved as odds-on favourites, with a solid showing coming in August after a long time off the track. The 5/2 favourite was narrowly touched off in a seven furlong showdown.

Wechaad runs for Roger Varian and has produced some solid efforts including a third-placed effort at Newmarket in July. It was a good performance in a competitive field of eight and we were quite taken by the seventh place out of thirty in the Britannia Stakes. This could certainly be an each-way pick although the value lies with Machadadorp.
