Indian Springs is a quality operator and he’s favourite to win the City of Doncaster Handicap. The Charlie Appleby-trained charge has recorded successive wins this season and could well land a consecutive hat-trick here. The horse was triumphant at Haydock in early July, with that being a facile victory in a novice stakes race over seven furlongs.
That win was preceded by a success at Newmarket, with the 2/1 favourite able to oblige in a seven-furlong heat in a maiden race. The Godolphin charge can go really well here, although the betting market outlines that there are several other lively contenders. Release The Storm has racked up successive wins this term and has to be considered.
Brian Meehan was sent off as the 13/8 favourite at Doncaster in mid-August, with the runner obliging in a novice stakes where a two and a half length victory was achieved. That came after a 10/1 success at Leicester, with the horse now hoping to continue his 100% record. However, Sarab Star also caught the eye on the all-weather this season.
The Jack Channon-trained charge was able to land a win at Kempton Park towards the end of August, with the 8/15 chance obliging over seven furlongs. Back In Black was able to secure the spoils by two lengths in a seven-furlong handicap at Newbury, with that coming before a fifth-placed finish at Goodwood in August.
