2026 Construction Handicap Betting Odds at Doncaster racecourse

Saturday, 12 September 2026

There’s a big field set to compete in the PJ Towey Construction Handicap, with this encounter taking place over one mile at Doncaster Racecourse. It looks to be a wide open encounter, with Treble Tee having been a runner-up on consecutive occasions. The three-year-old looks a viable candidate although Indalo has been racking up the wins recently.

Roger Varian trains a four-year-old who looks well weighted for this encounter, while top weight Midnight Gun has a high official rating and could be in the final shake-up. Treasure Time is trained by William Haggas and there could be more to come from Great Chieftain. The latter has claimed two victory in the past three outings.

2025 PJ Towey Construction Handicap Betting Tips

Treble Tee looks set to go off as the favourite to win the PJ Towey Construction Handicap, with Simon & Ed Crisford training a horse who has run well already this season. The last effort was a runner-up spot at Goodwood where the runner was half a length away from victory. That came after being narrowly pipped in the William Hill Summer Cup Handicap at York.

Indalo has racked up a couple of victories this term, with the latest triumph coming on the all-weather at Southwell at the end of August. The 4/1 favourite landed a victory by a length, with that coming after finishing fourth in a competitive handicap at Goodwood. Previously to this, there was a success that came at Sandown Park.

Midnight Gun is the top weight in the race. The horse hasn’t been seen in action since late March where the 9/2 favourite finished sixth in the William Hill Lincoln. Last October, there was an encouraging effort at Doncaster when winding up second in a one-mile handicap. However, the horse has failed to win in any of the previous four outings.

Treasure Time is also winless this term. William Haggas’ runner was fourth out of ten runners at Ascot back in August. Great Chieftain was fifth at Goodwood last time out and that came after consecutive successes at Newmarket and Haydock. They were both over the distance of a mile and there could be more to come from this horse.
