2021 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint Betting Tips
Gamine is now trading at odds-on and she is certainly the one to beat in the eyes of the bookies. Bob Baffert managed to get the then-three-year-old spot on twelve months ago when the horse obliged and she’ll be lining up at the age of four. The bookies are now giving her a larger than 50% probability that the horse scoops this major honour once again.
Since that victory at Keeneland on 7 November, Gamine has gone on to score a further four victories and the most recent of these was in the Ketel One Ballerina Handicap at Saratoga, with the horse having previously scored wins at Santa Anita and Churchill Downs last spring. There was also a facile win at Los Alamitos in the summer.
Bella Sofia Second Favourite to win Breeders’ Cup Clash
While Gamine will take all the beating, Bella Sofia is a horse that deserves to take her place among the favourites for this race. She is certainly a young pretender to the crown and the three-year-old looked outstanding in the Gallant Bloom Handicap when winning against three other entrants.
Rudy Rodriguez previously won the Longines Test Stakes when chinning Souper Sensational and Search Results, with the new kid on the block having kicked off her career by claiming victory in an Allowance Race at Belmont Park.
Ce Ce and Edgeway Also have Breeders Cup Claims
Ce Ce will step up in class for this encounter in the Chillingworth Stakes, with Michael McCarthy having claims as the trainer of this talented filly, with the horse having finished third behind Gamine at Saratoga and she has plenty to fine in order to frank the form.
Edgeway has the added advantage of having already won at Del Mar Racecourse and the four-year-old won the Rancho Bernardo Handicap which means that she deserves to take her place in this encounter.
