2022 Novice Chase Betting Odds at Leopardstown racecourse

Thursday, 29 December 2022

Fil Dor is a talented four-year-old and the horse racing betting sites have been shortening the runner’s odds when it comes to the Brand New Racing Post App Novice Chase. The horse had been hitting the post several times before claiming a victory at Navan and punters will now be sweet on his chances when it comes to this encounter.

Hollow Games is an older horse that should go well over two miles and one furlong, with Banbridge and Impervious other six-year-olds who are trading at single figure betting odds. The latter is carrying less weight than many of the other main contenders and it will be interesting to see where the money goes for this Irish horse race.

2022 Leopardstown Novice Chase Tips

The 2022 Leopardstown Novice Chase looks like a hot race and this Grade 1 encounter takes place over two miles and one furlong. Fil Dor has either finished first or second throughout his career, with the runner landing a runner-up spot in the JCB Triumph Hurdle behind Vauban and there was only two and a half lengths between the two horses at the Cheltenham Festival.

Vauban was also able to chin the same horse when the pair clashed at the Punchestown Festival, while his seasonal reappearance saw Brazil beat the horse at Naas. However, a victory was landed in the Beginners Chase when the favourite saw off Saint Roi and it’s easy to see why the bookmakers are keeping the horse onside.

Hollow Games is a horse that merits lots of respect and the six-year-old was able to win his own Beginners Chase race, with Jack Kennedy unlikely to be on the horse this time around. However, that four length victory over two miles and one furlong was visually impressive after finishing third in the Martin Pipe at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival.

Impervious is an interesting runner and there were back-to-back victories at Wexford and Cork to set up a tilt in this festive race. Beating Dinoblue in a Mares Novice Chase was a solid performance and we shouldn’t underestimate the mares’ allowance that will be afforded to this female horse on what is likely to be bottomless ground.
