Dubai Duty Free Stakes Results at Newbury — 18 April 2026

Saturday, 18 April 2026

There's a big field of runners set to line up for the Dubai Duty Free Stakes on Saturday although perhaps only a handful of horses can land a victory. Right now, only three horses are trading at single figure odds and Touleen takes up the lion's share of the market. The three-year-old showed some promising form last term and could go well here.

Catching The Moon is a viable each-way contender and should be able to travel well over seven furlongs for Richard & Peter Fahey. K Sarra was a strong performer on her appearance on the all-weather last term, with the same applying to Domina Ignis. Zooming and Senorita Vega are other interesting contenders capable of competing hard.

2026 Dubai Duty Free Stakes Betting Tips

Touleen has run well so far in her career, with Owen Burrows saddling a horse that landed back-to-back victories in August and September. The first of these successes came at Newbury when she was able to see off nine other runners. The 2/1 shot was a comfortable winner on that occasion and this was followed by a victory at Leicester in a novices' stakes.

It was an eye-catching display considering that Touleen was able to comfortably beat 4/11 favourite Zanthos by over three lengths. This was despite her being upset in the stalls although the filly could only finish fifth in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes. Perhaps she will bounce back here and the odds suggest that this is the horse to beat.

Catching The Moon was able to land two victories last season, with Richard & Peter Fahey saddling a horse who claimed a victory at Beverley last August. The 4/5 favourite was able to oblige over five furlongs, with that coming before a win in a competitive Ayr encounter. This came in the Firth Of Clyde where the runner kept on well on soft ground.

K Sarra is another with a lively chance even if there isn't a huge amount of form available. Ralph Beckett saddles a runner that triumphed on the all-weather at Southwell when scoring by over two lengths. Domina Ignis has an all-weather victory of her own under her belt, with that coming at Southwell in November when landing a five-length success.

The bookies are affording plenty of respect to Bedtime Story when it comes to the Dubai Duty Free Stakes. Last time out, the horse was fifth in a field of nine runners at Longchamp in the Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac - Criterium des Pouliches. That was over one mile after an underwhelming show at The Curragh. However, a spate of wins occurred before that.

This includes a triumph in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot when sent off as the 11/8 favourite, with the horse securing a nine and a half length victory. There was then a facile win at Leopardstown before a similar type of success at The Curragh. The bookies think that Mountain Breeze could also be a contender in this race.

Charlie Appleby has seen his charge score in back to back races at Meydan recently. The first of these came at the end of January as the 4/11 favourite and then came another success at odds of 1/12. However, the horse flattered to deceive back in September when finishing well down the pecking order at Woodbine.

Simmering is the horse with the highest official rating in the field. Ollie Sangster’s charge was able to finish fourth in the Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac - Criterium des Pouliches out of a field of nine runners. That came after finishing second out of five runners in the Moyglare Stud Stakes, with victories coming at Deauville and Ascot.

2024 Dubai Duty Free Stakes Tips

We’re looking forward to a strong renewal of the Dubai Duty Free Stakes, with some talented horses aiming to land a victory in this Group 3 encounter. Some of the talented fillies include Regal Jubilee who runs for John & Thady Gosden, with the horse returning to the track after winning her previous two encounters last season.

There was a triumph at Newmarket in early November when obliging over one mile on heavy ground, with a two-length victory landed in a listed race, while there was a previous success at Windsor in October and it’s easy to see why the bookmakers have installed this horse as favourite to win.

Relief Rally runs for trainer William Haggas and has a strong rating for this seven furlong encounter, with the most recent success coming in August. That took place at York where seven other runners were fended off at the Knavesmire in the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes and there could be more to come from a filly who was successful at Newbury in July.

Folgaria has been racking up the wins during her career to date and Marco Botti’s three-year-old merits respect here, with the horse travelling over from Italy to run for the first time in England. The last success came at the San Siro in October when beating either other horses but it’s hard to know how this form compares to her counterparts.

There are going to be lots of punters looking for extra places on their each-way bets, with Bridestones heading the betting although it’s hard to form a judgement on a runner who has been seen on just one occasion. While a victory at Yarmouth over one mile on 18 October was impressive enough, she might have to show more class in this encounter.

Magical Sunset has scored back to back successes coming into this race at Newbury, with one of the successes at this very racecourse. A seven furlong win on heavy ground was impressive and demonstrates some staying power on testing conditions, while there was previously a victory at Leicester Racecourse over six furlongs.

Swingalong scored at Ripon and York as a two-year-old before finishing fourth at Newmarket Racecourse in a previous outing. That placing was all the more impressive considering that the horse was competing in the Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes over six furlongs, with this being a Group 1 encounter and more could come in this race.

Queen Me was third place in the Virgin Bet Firth Of Clyde Fillies' Stakes over six furlongs on good ground and will now aim to run well in more testing conditions, with Kevin Ryan having saddled his charge to a place on three different occasions. She could be a decent each-way bet on account of this level of consistency.
