2026 Unibet Handicap Hurdle Betting Odds at Sandown Park racecourse

Saturday, 03 January 2026

Out of the dozen horses lining up in the Unibet Blog Handicap Hurdle, there are at least eight that can be in the winners' enclosure. Only outsider Ooh Betty would be a shock winner, with Dance And Glance having improved as the season has worn on. The six-year-old is also open to improvement compared to some of the older adversaries.

Knickerbockerglory was second in a seasonal debut, with the ten-year-old being the top-weighted horse in the field, although Go Dante goes off a slightly lower mark and Olly Murphy's runner was excellent last time out. Sinnatra will be hoping to go one better than consecutive second places this term and could be worth backing each-way.

2026 Unibet Blog Handicap Hurdle Betting Tips

Dance And Glance could be the horse to benefit from the handicapper on Saturday. The runner was an impressive winner at Ascot on 19 December and now returns to the track after previously fending off eighteen runners. That was in a handicap hurdle and the six-year-old ran well in the Lavazza Handicap Hurdle at the same track.

Knickerbockerglory was second in a first outing of the campaign when Dan Skelton's charge was narrowly beaten by Go Dante at Sandown Park in early December. The previous year, the horse won the same race and that was followed by solid efforts at Windsor, Plumpton and Sandown, with a lot of weight to handle over two miles.

Go Dante is another ten-year-old at the top of the weights, with Olly Murphy having seen his charge win two of the previous three outings. The December win at Sandown saw Knickerbockerglory beaten into second and the runner might also appreciate the firming ground, with a March success at Sandown also suggesting the horse performs well at this track.

Sinnatra could really sing at Sandown, with Dan Skelton throwing another one into the mix. The six-year-old was last seen finishing runner-up in a decent-sized field at Newbury, with that second place coming in a field of fifteen. A few weeks previously, the horse was also knocking on the door and the runner was previously a strong contender for Paul Nicholls.
