2026 Ballymore Leamington Novices Hurdle Betting Odds at Warwick racecourse

Saturday, 10 January 2026

The Ballymore Novice Hurdle is the third race on the Naas racecard this Friday, with Willie Mullins having a couple of talented runners heading the market. Saint Baco was an impressive winner on his seasonal debut, with the five-year-old shortening in the market for this encounter over two miles and four furlongs.

Sortudo has claimed a victory in his previous two outings, with the six-year-old having drifted on the market although he's been able to score a couple of successes. Classical Creek runs for Gordon Elliott and has to have solid each-way claims, with I'll Sort That having claimed a hat-trick and should go well for Declan Queally.

Saint Baco was an impressive winner at Navan at the beginning of December, with the Willie Mullins-trained charge more than capable of landing a victory at Naas on Friday. The 5/6 favourite secured a four-length success in a maiden hurdle over two miles, with the horse performing well on soft to heavy ground. There could be more to come from this five-year-old before a potential trip to Cheltenham.

Sortudo has won his previous two races, with the latest victory coming at Cork Racecourse at the end of November. There was a stupendous eight and a half length success over two miles, with the short-priced favourite slaying the field. This came after previously scoring at Fairyhouse where the 5/2 shot was able to win by another considerable distance.

Classical Creek has been in the winners' enclosure on plenty of occasions and the six-year-old was last seen obliging in the middle of November at Navan. There was no surprise that the 4/9 favourite was too strong when claiming a significant margin of victory and that came after a long lay-off. Therefore, there might be more to come from the Gigginstown horse.

I'll Sort That has bagged three consecutive victories, with Declan Queally having overseen wins at Listowel, Galway and Navan. The first of these came in September over two miles, with a two mile, four and a half furlong success in October. The horse then acted well on soft to heavy ground over two miles at Navan in November.

Paul Nicholls has jockey Lorcan Williams booked to ride Knowsley Road and there’s a confidence that the horse can run a big race. The six-year-old currently boasts a record of three consecutive victories and they all came at Chepstow, with the horse recently obliging as the 4/5 favourite when winning a Novices’ Hurdle which saw him as the comfortable winner.

Ginny’s Destiny is trading at a similar price in the betting and the seven-year-old was a facile winner at Warwick Racecourse in the middle of November. Sent off as an 18/1 outsider, there was so much to like about a performance that saw the winner claim a victory by over eight lengths, with Mexico and Lookaway unable to get close.

Grey Dawning comes into the race off back-to-back wins and the six-year-old certainly has claims to run a decent race. On Boxing Day, the horse was a winner at Kempton Racecourse, with the horse winning over two miles and five furlongs. The horse previously won a Novices’ Hurdle at Exeter and could be on the shortlist.

Twinjets comes from the smaller stable of Milton Harris and the six-year-old picked up successive wins at Leicester and Plumpton. There are other notable horses in the race and that includes Givega, with victories coming at Fontwell and Lingfield. Landrake comes over from Ireland and scooped wins at Clonmel and Fairyhouse.
