2025 Wincanton Handicap Chase Betting Odds at Wincanton racecourse

Sunday, 26 October 2025

Largy Poet was successful on his previous outing and now returns to the track at Wincanton. Paul Nicholls trains a horse who is among the leading contenders in the Wincanton Handicap Chase. Olivers Travels is trading at a similar price, with the seven-year-old bidding to record a third consecutive victory.

Regarde is an eight-year-old with a solid track record, with Copperhead returning to the course after a glittering career. The eleven-year-old certainly still has the capability to oblige over long distances, with Lord Accord having finished fourth in a previous showing. My Silver Lining and Bretney will be out to more than make up the numbers.

2025 Wincanton Handicap Chase Betting Tips

There are seven horses all set to go to post in the Wincanton Handicap Chase and they all have a viable chance of landing a victory. The runners and riders will travel over three miles, two and a half furlongs. Therefore, a stern test of stamina is required and perhaps Largy Poet can recreate the performance that saw the horse score at Exeter in February.

That was a solid three mile performance on heavy ground and stamina really shouldn’t be an issue. That came after a decent Boxing Day performance at Wincanton and the horse may benefit from returning to the track. However, Olivers Travels has been scoring regularly and perhaps merits as the better value bet.

Back in September, the horse was able to oblige at Uttoxeter over three miles. It was a stunning success by over eight and a half lengths. That came after a Cartmel triumph where another stupendous victory was achieved by a considerable distance. Mickey Bowen’s seven-year-old should get the good ground he needs to run his best race.

Regarde was able to record a runner-up spot at Cheltenham back in April when running in a handicap chase over three miles and four furlongs. That came after a Haydock success in March, with the horse likely to come on leaps and bounds after wind surgery. Copperhead is an older adversary and the eleven-year-old has plenty of experience over the distance.
