Bronte Cup Fillies Stakes Results at York — 23 May 2026

Saturday, 23 May 2026

There are two horses trading at a much shorter price than the others for the William Hill Bronte Cup Fillies' Stakes. Danielle returns to the track for the new season, with John & Thady Gosden seeing their charge finish off the previous campaign with a win. The five-year-old is trading at a marginally shorter price than Crepe Suzette.

The latter comes from the same stable and finished fifth on a recent return to the track. She could come on for the run, although Miss Alpilles is the one we really like. There were back to back successes towards the end of the previous season, with Ed Walker's charge looking ready to build on those wins starting with this race at the Knavesmire.

2026 Bronte Cup Betting Tips

Miss Alpilles is a talented runner who finished off the previous season with successive wins. Ed Walker's charge was a gallant victor at Goodwood when winning a handicap race at odds of 11/2. She then followed this up with a striking effort in the Jockey Club Rose Bowl Stakes. Sent off at 20/1, the horse proved to have the best stamina over a distance of two miles.

A three and a half length victory means that we have to take this runner seriously and she returned to the track in an impressive fashion this term. The filly was a 40/1 chance in the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot and not expected to get anything like the third place that was registered. A faster start and she might have got even closer to winner Sweet William.

John & Thady Gosden saddle the two front runners in the market. Danielle was a winner at Doncaster back in November, with that being a nine-length success as the 10/11 favourite. Over one mile and two furlongs on heavy ground, it was a fine effort and came after a midfield finish in the Champions Fillies and Mares' Stakes.

Crepe Suzette was the favourite at Goodwood in the Daisy Warwick Fillies' Stakes although she was unable to travel well over the one mile and four furlongs to eventually finish fifth. That came after a third-placed effort in the Betfred Park Hill Fillies' Stakes and that came after another bold showing at York Racecourse.
