Fakenham Racecourse Betting Odds

Fakenham is one of the lesser-known racecourses in England, although there are several competitive National Hunt meetings that take place here every year. This is a left-handed course and the shape is virtually a square, with the distance of about one mile.

There is a hurdle course at Fakenham as well as a steeplechase course and a typical card will have a mixture of hurdle and chase races. There are six fences per circuit and there’s often an exciting finish due to the fact that there’s an open ditch as the final fence.

There is usually a National Hunt meeting in mid-October when the season is really starting to get into full swing, while you will find another event towards the end of this month and there’s another meeting in the middle of November.

Usually about a week before Christmas Day, you will find a Christmas Meeting at Fakenham Racecourse, although the most popular one of all takes place on 1 January, with the New Year’s Day meeting attracting large crowds.

Other notable dates are Fakenham Silver Cup day which is usually occurring on the Saturday before the Cheltenham Festival, while there is also the Norfolk National in May.
