Bet on the Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse
There are no less than nine Group One races at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse. The most prestigious is probably the Golden Slipper Stakes which always takes place in April. Over 1,200 metres, the runners and riders battle it out for a big prize. Like all the other encounters, this is run on the turf surface at this track, with two-year-olds battling it out for top honours. There are Rosehill Gardens Racecourse racecards for all the big meetings, with the Golden Slipper Stakes having been in operation since 1957. It's an encounter over 1,200 metres and it's now the world's richest race for two-year-old thoroughbreds. Trainer Gai Waterhouse has an outstanding record and has now saddled eight winners.
Lady Of Camelot, Marhoona and Guest House are among the recent winners of the race, with the George Ryder Stakes also taking place at this track in April. This takes place on the same Rosehill Gardens Racecourse racecard as the Golden Slipper Stakes, with Winx the only horse to have claimed a success on more than two occasions.
This race was inaugurated as the Railway Stakes in 1903 and has been sponsored by The Agency over the recent years. Veight, Gringotts and Autumn Glow are among the recent winners of this showdown although there are several other top-class encounters taking place at this course.
The Ranvet Stakes and Rosehill Guineas are both run in March, with the former being competed over 2,000 metres. The latter is a three-year-old contest and the other Group One contests in that particular month are the Coolmore Classic and The Galaxy. The following month sees the Vinery Stud Stakes and Tancred Stakes before we have the Golden Rose Stakes in September.
