Copper Horse Stakes Betting Odds
A maximum of sixteen runners will line up in the Copper Horse Stakes when the horses battle it out over a mile and six furlongs. It's the final chance to back a winner on Day One of the Royal Ascot meeting and we like the look of Valiancy. The horse has been on the victory trail, finishing off the previous campaign with a success and then registering a win to kick off the new season.

William Haggas' charge could take all the beating, with Gamrai having won on the all-weather at the beginning of the season and then finishing runner-up last time out. Aeronautic has had a couple of outings this term and Daiquiri Bay was successful on a seasonal debut and should prosper for trainer Alan King.

There have been consecutive wins for Valiancy and the first of these victories came in September when the 4/1 shot was able to score at Haydock Park. This was a success over one mile and six furlongs, with the horse ended up being the comfortable winner of a handicap showdown. The fact that the runner came from the rear to win was a bonus.
There was then a later success at Hamilton. Over one mile and five furlongs, the 5/4 favourite was well backed for an encounter on good ground. The horse has the ability to hit the front at the right time, with these victories coming after a second-placed finish at Sandown Park. The horse just seems to run well on a consistent basis.
Gamrai is trained by John & Thady Gosden, with the March success coming on the all-weather at Kempton Park. It was a three-length victory for the 15/2 shot, with that coming before a 2/1 favourite outing at Newmarket in early May. Interestingly, the horse that claimed the victory on that occasion was Daiquiri Bay.
The latter runs in this race and perhaps there's some value in placing an each-way wager on the four-year-old. Alan King's charge was able to get up by a length against Gamrai and that came after a third-placed effort at Newmarket in October. The performances have been steadily improving and we think that the runner won't be too far away.
