Flight might go off as favourite to win the Rosemary Stakes despite the fact that she hasn’t recorded a win this season. Ollie Sangster trains a runner who finished eleventh out of thirteen runners at Sandown at the end of August. A better performance had previously come when finishing second in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Sent off as the 33/1 outsider, the three-year-old was only a length behind even money favourite Desert Flower, with the horse also finishing sixth in the Irish 1000 Guineas. However, some punters might pass over this filly in favour of Cajole. The horse was a better performer in that Sandown encounter which was the Atalanta Stakes.
The John & Thady Gosden-trained charge has previously produced some smart performances, with that including an effort at Royal Ascot where the horse was runner-up in the Sandringham Stakes. There was also a second-placed effort in the Coral Distaff in early July, with the horse midfield in the Valiant Stakes at Ascot.
Elwateen has run three times this term and not made a huge impact. There was a fourth placed finish at Newmarket in the 1000 Guineas as a 22/1 shot, with that coming before landing seventh out of nine runners in the Epsom Oaks. In the Group One Falmouth Stakes back in July, we saw the horse finish second last and improvement is needed.

There’s an intriguing betting race at Newmarket on Friday, with Spiritual having finished fourth out of nine runners at Sandown at the end of August. In the Atalanta Stakes, it was a solid performance as a 12/1 chance, with this coming after landing sixth spot in the Prix de Lieurey - Fonds Europeen de l'Elevage in mid-August.
Bluedrum was able to score fourth position in the same race, with Jessie Harrington’s charge carrying three pounds less than her adversary and she was previously second at Leopardstown in the Brownstown Stakes when running a stout race after a third-placed finish out of eight horses at Navan.
Sirona trades at a similar price and the four-year-old could be given a good ride by Ryan Moore, with the four-year-old finishing second out of eight runners at Longchamp at the beginning of September. This was in the Prix de la Cochere - Fonds Europeen de l'Elevage where the charge was pipped by a neck by favourite Mountain Song.
Rolica looks a backable each-way price and the horse won on her seasonal debut before finishing midfield in the past three encounters. Fair Point has landed two victories this term and Ralph Beckett saddles a runner who won a Premier Fillies’ Handicap at Ascot Racecourse and there was a victory at Chester earlier in the season.

Coppice has been running really well this season and the fact that Frankie Dettori is on board could see the horse be a popular selection in the Rosemary Stakes. There was a below par performance in the Atalanta Stakes in early September, although there were some good displays that preceded this, with the horse having won the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot.
There was also a solid performance in the Falmouth Stakes when the 14/1 shot was able to finish fifth out of eight runners in a competitive race, with Potapova having finished third in the Atalanta Stakes and that means the bookies are respecting the chances of a runner who will have Ryan Moore on board the five-year-old.
Queen For You is another talented filly, with the runner finishing second in the Atalanta Stakes and it’s clear that this previous race could be the most accurate barometer of which horse is able to claim a victory. John & Thady Gosden could be ready to saddle the eventual winner and this charge was less than a length behind eventual winner Heredia over one mile.
Previously to this, the mare was underwhelming when finishing fifth out of ten runners despite being sent off as the 16/5 favourite. This was in a Fillies’ Stakes at York Racecourse, with Ameynah having finished fourth in the Longines Valiant Stakes which was a Group 3 contest at Ascot and it’s worth looking out for price boosts here.
