There are a clutch of horses all trading at single figure betting odds when it comes to the Gordon Stakes. A La Prochaine has run well in strong fields this season, although we’re leaning towards Enceladus considering that the horse has landed a double already this term and should be able to cope well with the allotted weight allowance.

Bay Of Brilliance has a bit more to prove after a disappointing outing in the previous encounter, with Geryon having landed a win in the last race and could be an each-way bet to nothing. Sahara King is yet to register a triumph this term although that might change, with Shaihaan opening the campaign with a success.

Enceladus ran well at the Curragh and Naas towards the end of 2025 and has since stepped up a gear. There was an April win at Cork where the 100/30 chance was able to win by a head in a maiden race over a mile, two and a half furlongs. Then came an even brighter performance at Royal Ascot where a triumph was landed in the King George V Stakes over a mile and four furlongs.
A La Prochaine claimed a win at Newbury towards the end of 2025, with the 4/1 chance able to land a victory on soft ground over a mile. Then came third out of five at Chester in the Cheshire Oaks, with the latest display being a fourth-placed finish in the Epsom Oaks. That was over a mile and four furlongs and the horse performed well as a 22/1 shot.
Bay Of Brilliance was a solid performer as a two-year-old when scoring at Goodwood in September, with that coming before another winning effort at Redcar. This year, we saw the horse finish second at Lingfield in May before a fourth-placed finish in the Epsom Derby. The experimental run at Hamburg was a failure when the horse finished second-last.
Geryon has run several times this term and appears to be coming to the fore. The victory at Leopardstown last time the horse set foot on the turf, with that coming in the MELD Stakes over a mile and a furlong. That came after a strong effort where the runner finished fourth out of seven in the Dubai Duty Free International Stakes.
